Decks

National Contractors has many years of experience in building and replacing wooden decks. Decks must be built to the same code requirements as framing inside the house. All lumber should be water resistant like redwood, cedar, or pressure-treated wood. Decking planks, fascia, and even railing may be made from engineered (composite) lumber like Trexor TimberTech. These materials, with the beauty of wood, will not rot, split, or deteriorate, and require no painting or staining.

Decks more than 24" above grade must be surrounded with a railing. Wood railings are often being replaced by vinyl reinforced with aluminum and wood. Check Fairway Vinyl Systemsand Phoenix Manufacturing for more information.
